1. Main characteristics of ISDN TV Conferencing
3. Pre-conference Preparations
In addition to TV conferencing utilizing ISDN services, recently there have been a multitude of "real-time" communication tools appearing on the market.
One example is the desk-type TV conferencing "CUSee-Me" which utilizes the Internet. Each has its own unique characteristics, however currently at Teleclass offices, we are using a "genuine" TV conferencing system called the KV6200.
Some of its distinct advantages in comparison to other tools are well known: better sound and a more stable picture.
To assist you in planning a quality TV conference, be sure to incorporate some of the points mentioned here after.
A lot has been heard recently about the PC Joint Entry White Board, however, while commendable, there are key points that are not addressed such as:
sound, color and the importance of the dynamic interactions between the participants. These critical elements in communication are emphasized in TV conferencing. Also, it is important for teachers to add their suggestions such as "Let's try this".
Before commencing a TV conference, be sure to have communications between participating students and teachers well established beforehand. This and other necessary transactions, such as file exchanges, can be done through email, fax, etc.
